Hitachi bread maker HB-B201 cookbook recipes?

Hi. I'm looking for the cookbook/recipe book for my Hitachi bread maker model HB-B201. I saw some old posts, but the links were not current.


If someone would be so kind as to take pity upon me enough to send me a working link or a pdf copy, I'd be over the moon!


I already have a somewhat usable manual, but lack the cookbook. My extensive, several hour internet search was unsuccessful (note: the cookbook for the model HB B101 isn't useful).

I did a search and found a copy of the cookbook on Amazon! For $50.79, plus shipping! :ohmy:

I have my own copy of the cook book for HB-B101. I'm not sure how different it might be? If you don't find it elsewhere and aren't will to pay $50+, don't blame you, give a holler and I'll scan mine for you? And either send if via PM, if I'm allowed, or snail mail?

Did you ever have a copy? If so, maybe I can call out recipe names or something & you can see if it might be similar. (In order to scan it, I have to run from room to room, changing the pages. Sigh.)

Ooops...just saw your note about 101 doesn't help...so, never mind that part!
 
There are cookbooks available for non-specific bread machines. The process is pretty much the same for all of them - put the ingredients in the pan in a certain order (generally liquids first, flour on that and yeast on top), choose the type of bread and crust color you want and turn it on. There's usually a beep after a while, for adding dried fruit, nuts, etc. I'd look into getting one of those.
 
And, for whatever it might be worth, many of the bread mixes available at the local supermarket have directions for using in your bread machine.

Totally different, but may be of interest anyway?

3 days ago, I tried a whole wheat recipe, where I just coincidentally followed the ingredient order you suggested above, but it came out about a half the size it should have.


All the ingredients were fresh, I used dry yeast (not the rapid) and I put it on the regular cycle (not the rapid), so I'm going to try more yeast and sugar next time.


If anyone has used a Hitachi HB-B201 and has the recipe book and/or suggestions, I'd love to hear from you!

Hmmm...My HB-B101 specifies to use only rapid/quick yeast. Well, it doesn't say it that way, it says use the kind that doesn't require pre-fermentation. I would try again with the instant kind. That said, I haven't used my bread machine in many years and I do recall having more difficulty with the whole wheat and whole grain breads. The yeast did need more sugar, I think. I remember trying honey and it didn't work at all.

This reminds me that one thing I learned about making bread in the machine is to use warm water - around 100°F. This will activate the yeast. I had forgotten to do that for a while and thought the machine was broken because the loaves were so flat and dense. Then I realized the problem and it worked perfectly.
