I have cooked some Collard greens for Thanksgiving and they are seriously bitter. I have added a teaspoon of brown sugar - still awfully bitter. Any ideas???
Jude's leftover refrigerator surprise soup - the poblanos and other things incorporated too much heat - how can I tone it down. I like it but is too much for DH.
I have been using a certain brand of granite cleaner and polish daily on my new granite counter and I got curious about it's ingredients. Since the bottle does not display any, I went to the website and it claimed they were "Proprietary" ingredients and to go to the MSDS (safety Sheet) for info...
I picked up some semi-soft white olive cheese and that disappeared quickly with fresh bread, fruit and wine. I have another called Halloumi that I have never tried. After I brought it home I realized it has mint on it. I'm not sure what to do with it as I'm not a big fan of mint except in tea...
I purchased 90/10 ground beef last week and it had grey strips of ground meat going through the center. It didn't have an off odor or any sliminess to it. I used the meat around it to no ill effects but today I went to the same place and purchased some more. Guess what...same thing. I'm thinking...
I bought a few small assorted tamales from the local farmer's market (enough for me & DH) 6. They were not frozen. What is the best way to reheat them and do you have suggestions on what to serve with them? I also bought 4 decent size poblano peppers (last of the season).
Went to the outdoor farmer's market nearby today and asked for marrow bones for soup/stock. She told me to go look at what they had for the week. I went with her son to the cooler and he apologized for the packaging. Apparently they had a new butcher/packager the day before and he didn't air...
DH and guys went fishing and caught snapper, grouper and mackerel. They smoked the mackerel and I wanted something different to do with it. I'm tired of fish salad. Any ideas?
Has anyone else had the experience of Garbanzo Beans sparking in the microwave? Any ideas on the substance causing it? All of the instances have been from rinsed canned Garbanzoes.
I stupidly got rid of my 25 year old stainless dependable Osterizer Blender when all it really needed was a new blade. I then purchased the over-priced peice of junk Montel originally sold. It was extremely noisy and difficult to clean. I gave it to a friend and 2 months later it fried and now...
I have most of a loaf of somewhat dense bread with dried fruit in it. It has gone stale and I wanted to cube it and do some type of breakfast casserole with eggs in it. Does anyone have a recipe or suggestions on how to do it?
