    2024 Sunday May 12 Supper

It was an unusually warm day here in WI, almost 80 deg F today. I had a cold salad of diced beets and onions, chickpeas, ac vinegar, pepper and nu-salt. The bee people sent me a tin of see's chocolates for mom's day. I cut them all in half so WE could see what was inside. They don't comply with...

2024 May 11 What was your supper?

Happy Birthday Taxy! May it be filled with good memories and future adventures. You DID?! Cool! Good idea! I bet mushrooms and zucchini would both be good. I need to remember that for the next time we have large whole mushrooms (instead of the sliced ones). We have done the cauliflower wings...

    What are you doing?

Since about February we've been on an organizing/sorting/throwing away/donating kick. We are limited by volume to throwing out by a big weekly bin. Every wednesday at between 3 and 7 pm, him and I go through some area of the house, boxes or storage, in every room of the house. Once the bin is...

Red onion vs white onion vs green onion

I've made onion slabs, baked battered breaded out of yellow onions. Our long keepers are currently mostly utah yellow (the patterson's were good too) and I'm surprised how well they are lasting STILL in may this year, only a few have sprouted. Since the bee company gets their families bees out...

Friday, May 10, 2024 - The Dinner Bell is Ringing!

Today was a weird day for eating. I had beet greens, beet stems, veggie rice, seasoned tempeh, then later, a lot of seedless watermelon. Watermelon is such a nice treat!

    Is this a meat tenderizer?

I would use it for tenderizing meats (if we ate meats). It would also be handy in the kitchen if someone broke into your house, you have a weapon. (no joke) *newspaper headlines: woman protects family against burgler with meat tenderizer-go you!*

    Anniversary dinner ideas?

The best time to make fondue is when the children are too little to sit at the table or they are almost grown up. It's a hazard otherwise. https://www.thesisterskitchen.com/fondue/ This recipe page has a coq au vin broth, veggies and meats, 3 dipping sauces. You could pick all his and your...

    What happened to Starbucks???

That's why Starbuck's isn't doing as well, because, just like you said, more people are filling their travel mugs as they head out the door in the morning. The market for travel mugs is big, they are selling pretty well. It might be the most sturdy travel mug or the most fashionable one. Or it...
