casey - it's posts like this that drive me crazy, envy, jealousy, frustration - not sure exactly which, maybe all of them.

I paid around $400 for mine. Yes, it was on sale, got it thru Amazon, was the best price going at the time.

Please make me feel better by saying 4/5 years ago that was a good price. It's OK, lie if you have to. :ermm:

$400?! Wow. It was the same unit?

I have an 11 cup Cuisinart that I bought 25 years ago for ~$140. Still holding strong to this day.

I would like to get a smaller one like 4c or 5.

I'm not surprised Cuisinart does well in testing. I think their products are consistently among the best. I have a Cuisinart 11-cup FP that's almost 20 years old and a 4-cup FP and they both perform like new. We have their coffee maker and toaster oven-also good performers.

Their manual can opener is not so great.

Another kudos for Cuisinart, this time for their cookware. A number of years ago I got a bunch of their saucepans, sauté pans and a skillet for a steal, when a company was going bankrupt, and I was switching a bunch of my things to induction capable. I've been very satisfied with all of them - great heat distribution, comfortable handles that stay cool, and no warping at all in any of them. And I remember the prices before the 50% off were the lowest, at the time, of any of the induction capable brands.

Just got around to watching your video. That's not the exact same model I got after all but still my price to yours is disgusting. Again apologies, paid just over $300, not 4.

Cuisinart 14 cup

Not sure what the difference is but I had researched it and I think I was very influenced by ATK - I generally check out what they have to say on a product.

I agree. I have a couple of Cuisinart multi-ply SS pans and they are workhorses in my kitchen.

Casey I bought an Cuisisnart DLC 14
29 Years Ago I used it for 26 years,
before it croaked . It is prefect for making bread.
I went to BB and bought the same model the
next day. I also have a Cuisniart 11 that I bought at a yard sale
for $5.00 In use both of them.

Josie

I got a new food processor. Cuisinart 14-cup. It was ATK's first choice. I'm not a big ATK fan overall, but do like their equipment testing/reviews. Retail $199.99 in-store, but the online price was $150.99, and the store price matched it.

Most of my cookware is Cuisinart.

Thats from the "Elite Collection." Just the word "Elite" adds a hundred bucks to the price.

I have one Cuisinart try-ply pan -- a stir fry pan. Seems as good as my All Clad pans.

I too, have the Cusinart mini food processor. That's the only FP I had for many years. It is good... for what it CAN do. Not much power or spin speed. This 14-cup FP spins way faster, so it chops much better. The mini FP mashes some of what I am chopping. Especially onions.

I got a new toy for my playground - a Staub 2-in-1 cocotte and grill pan. Food52 dangled it in my face and I bit. [emoji38] I can't believe how quickly it got here. I ordered it late on the 25th, got my "your order is ready for shipping" email at 3:32 PM today, and then the box was dropped on my porch at 4:45 PM today. Amazing...

Your new toy looks good. I use to think the Staub was German. Didn't realize that it is French. I have just 1 Staub dutch oven that I bought last year. I think it's 3qt that I got on Amazon for $80. Haven't used it yet. It's still in the basement on a shelf hidden from my wife.

I Guess I'll Have To Make A Pie This Weekend!

A modest but of "kitchen candy" but it was cheap enough (less than $6 on Amazon) to give a try as a means to a better crust. Standard pie plate size in stainless steel.

Just so happens I have some apples from last week's apple picking venture...
