Rainy morning, so I made baguettes. I have two baguette pans, and I made a dozen 8" baguettes. Perfect sandwich size, and also good to have on hand for dishes where you want a baguette to mop up sauce. They freeze well, and after thawing I put them in the Breville TO for 5 minutes at 300F to firm up the crust.

Forgot to post this, but I made burger buns again last weekend. I measured the dough balls into 2 oz. pieces. I don't really need 16 buns for the two of us [emoji38] so I tried to make some hotdog buns, too. I need practice on the shaping, but they taste great. I also made a fougasse stuffed with bacon-onion jam :yum:

Here's the recipe I used. They're done in less than an hour! https://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/40-minute-hamburger-buns-183081

Baked a chocolate cake today but messed it up. I used baking powder instead of soda. Oooops. I’ll cut it open tomorrow to see if it’s useable.

Last weekend, I made Vivian Howard's Sweet Potato-Onion Bread from her book Deep Run Roots. It's a process, but WOW is it good :yum: Roasted sweet potato makes it orangey and caramelized onions make it delicious.

Going to make some scones (biscuits to you) and biscuits (cookies to you).

"Two nations divided by a common language" or words to that effect ;-D

I made a loaf of country white bread today (well, Saturday). It makes wonderful grilled cheese and BLT sandwiches. Grilled cheese down, BLT to go...probably with another loaf of this bread. Won't last until I have a change to get the T.

I made a loaf of caraway rye bread today, along with a pan of cherry-almond scones. The scones were for Himself's birthday - instead of a cake. [emoji1]
